Who are we?
Our Eco council is a group of pupils who meet each month to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within school which prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. There are two eco warriors from each class from EYFS to year 6 who meet weekly to discuss important issues
What do we do?
Through this role, children develop skills in looking after their school community and grounds, ensuring recycling is carried out correctly, organising wake-up shake-ups, and promoting healthy eating habits. Their work often extends beyond the school and their they participate in initiatives such as the street cleaning program, litter picking, and have created posters for the Library to advocate for environmental care. As muslims, we have a duty of care to look after the environment and encourage children to appreciate the blessings given to us. Projects like Tuck Shop Tuesday, the Eco Refill Shop, and contributing to the development of the early years garden showcase their commitment. Their involvement with baby chicks, butterflies, and nature clubs during break times demonstrates their dedication to fostering an eco-conscious and nurturing environment.
